About Us


Fairfield Behavioral Health Services was established in 1979 by an ordinance from the Fairfield County Council. The ordinance designated Fairfield Behavioral Health Services as the sole county authority for alcohol and drug abuse services.  Fairfield Behavioral Health Services is an independent, public nonprofit organization which focuses on drug and alcohol education, treatment and prevention.

Mission Statement

Fairfield Behavioral Health Services is dedicated to providing quality, accessible and affordable alcohol, tobacco and other drug intervention, treatment, prevention and education services to the residents of Fairfield County.

The same certification that accredits major hospitals, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), accredits the following programs of Fairfield Behavioral Health Services:

Outpatient Treatment: Alcohol and Other Drugs/Addictions (Adults)

Outpatient Treatment: Alcohol and Other Drugs/Addictions (Children and Adolescents)

Prevention/Diversion: Alcohol and Other Drugs/Addictions (Adults)

Prevention/Diversion: Alcohol and Other Drugs/Addictions  (Children and Adolescents)



Fairfield Behavioral Health Services is also licensed by the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and is affiliated with the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, United Way, and Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce.
